By now you’ve probably seen a few social media posts from us about SEO. If you’ve visited our website, you would’ve seen it there too.
“But what is it?” You ask.
Well, SEO is short for Search Engine Optimisation. In a nutshell – how to make a website look appealing to search engines. We’re not going to give away all our secrets here, but here’s a bit of an explanation of how it all works.
Within a website, there’s all sorts of content; text, images, audio, video, titles, headers, footers – the list goes on. All of these elements are potential ‘boxes’ that can be filled with SEO content.
The aim of SEO, is to ensure that your website is at the top of the pile, or at least on the first page of a web search (because who ever looks at page 2?).
So what do we do? Firstly, we decide what we think people will look for in order to come across your site. For example, if you’ve got a website selling kids clothing, there’s no point optimising the content for wheel balancing. Now this does sound silly, but we’ve come across some horrendous SEO content which doesn’t relate to the website it’s on at all!
Once we’ve decided how people are going to find your website, we optimise the content so that it gets located in searches which are relevant.
The good thing about a well optimised site, is that all clicks onto it from searches are free. Paid SEO is available, but everything is better when it’s free!
If you’ve got a website and would like to know if you’re getting the best out of it, get in touch with us. We can do a free audit of your site to see how effective your SEO is. We can then make changes to ensure it’s attracting as many visitors as possible.
